I applied online. I interviewed at Prairie State Bank & Trust
Interview
The interviewers read questions off of a sheet of paper. It was obvious they didn't come up with the questions. The interview didn't feel very personal and I didn't end up taking the job offer. They were very nice and professional but it didn't seem like a good enough first impression.

Question 1
How have you handled a "difficult" customer at previous jobs?
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We do utilize a sort of personality test that you took prior to the interview that helps to show strengths and areas of development for each candidate. They populate various questions to ask that help our interview team to learn more about the candidate.
We appreciate the insight and feedback and we will with with HR through our interview training to ensure managers are reminded and trained to only use those questions as a guide.
We wish you the best of luck in your job search and hope you find the company that is a great fit for you.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Prairie State Bank & Trust (Springfield, IL) in Jun 2017
Interview
I submitted my application online and was called within 24 hours. I was asked to complete some additional pre-interview items such as an online assessment and another online test similar to a personality quiz. Each of these took around 20minutes to complete.
I was then called about 2 days later for an in-person interview. I completed 2 in-peron interviews with a Retail Managers, Regional President and the VP of Retail. The individuals were very welcoming, professional and asked excellent questions.
The communication from the interview team and HR was very good.

Question 1
In looking towards your next employer, what is the ideal culture and environment you would like to see?
I applied online. I interviewed at Prairie State Bank & Trust (Decatur, IL) in Jun 2020
Interview
Emails with little follow-up leading to a phone interview. Was sent to an interview at another branch location, but the interviewers asked more personal questions than about experience. They asked if I was from the area which seemed to have more racial undertones. Was told that their customers are more used to seeing people that look like them. Courtesy interview.
