I applied online. I interviewed at Pratt & Whitney in Aug 2024
Interview
I would like to share some feedback regarding my recent interview experience. Unfortunately, it was the worst experience I've encountered in my entire career.
I applied through a recruiter and joined the scheduled call 5 minutes early, only to wait for 15 minutes before the interviewer joined. Once he did, the interaction felt rushed and unprofessional. After briefly inquiring about my tech stack, he shared his screen to show me a vague problem. It was evident that he was unfamiliar with the details of the question he presented.
When I sought clarification to understand the problem better, his response was dismissive: "You are a developer, you should find everything and fix it." As you can imagine, it's challenging to resolve an issue just by glancing at a frontend function without knowing whether the root cause is on the server side, backend, or frontend. Despite my efforts to gain more context, he abruptly ended the presentation and left the call.
This kind of arrogant and unprofessional behavior is concerning, especially in a role where interpersonal skills and clear communication are crucial. I strongly believe that it would be beneficial for the company to ensure that individuals representing the organization in interviews uphold a professional and respectful standard.
The interview process involved 2 rounds , 1 technical and 1 managerial round. All interviews happened remotely and on a video call. It was an average interview process overall and went smoothly.

Interview
Interview process included phone screening, 3 rounds followed by HR discussion. All the technical rounds were virtual and taken by hiring managers. Every step of the way, HR took double confirmation whether I could serve only 1 month notice period and buyback the rest. They even agreed to provide the buy-back amount.
