      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Progressive Insurance (Boise, ID) in Nov 2012

      Interview

If they select you they email a personality test. The online test takes about 30-40 minutes, if you pass the test they schedule a phone interview with someone in their HR Dept. Typical questions about experience, contacts per day, etc. They also ask how much you earned in your prior position. If your earnings were higher than what they pay they will not continue interviewing. If you really want this job, be aware that they pay @ $20,000 to $22,000 per year in Idaho. Which would be great if it was a part-time position. It's no wonder they have such a high turn-over rate for this position.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Progressive Insurance in Jan 2015

      Interview

Submitted application online. Invited to take an online assessment, which I completed. Received an email that I would be moving on to a telephone interview, which I had with a corporate interviewer. She scheduled the interview via email and followed through. The phone interview lasted approximately 30 minutes. I was told at the time that she would want me to be prepared to speak with the hiring manager the following week. I hadn't heard back, sent an email and called to inquire as to date and time. Received an email form the initial interviewer to follow up and a call from her the following day. Total process to this point took approximately 3 1/2 weeks.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The 1st question she asked was whether I had any questions for her--it threw me a little, as far as when the question was asked. Otherwise, standard "behavior" type interview.

      Interview

I had a phone screening with HR, two face-to-interviews and two additional phone interviews. They are very thorough; wanting to make sure that you are a good fit for the company and the company is a good fit for you.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Progressive uses institutional based interview questions, where you describe a scenario base on the question, discuss what you did in reference to the scenario and what the outcome was. It's not as easy as it sounds and you need to be prepared to answer 5 - 6 questions on each interview. What they want to know is how you react to a given situation, how you solve problems and if you are a team player. Good listening skills are very important.

      Interview

The hiring process is quite lengthy. Once you apply on-line it is decided if you should continue the process. If you continue, one must then take an on-line math and behavioral test. If one passes that, you then possibly get a phone interview with Human Resources. If one passes that, your resume is sent to the hiring manager for a possible face to face interview. Also, others on the team may interview you face to face or via the telephone. Once these interviews are completed, a timely decision is then made.

      Question 1

Progressive is big on Behavioral Questions. There aren't any questions that are tricky, so as long as you have your SOAR or STAR stories you should do well.
