I applied for the position, they sent me an email to do the behavioral assessment. Passed the assessment and was told that I would be contacted for a phone interview. Within this time, I had already decided not to accept the job (read the reviews for this particular position), but I went ahead with the interview as it would have been rude to cancel on such short notice and the extra interview practice wouldn't hurt.
The lady promptly called, but I was honestly confused as to whether I was talking to a real person or an automated computer. Every response was high pitch, overly friendly, and very robotic. You can tell that she does interviews regularly and because of that, she has an automated response to everything.
Overall, I think the process went smoothly up until the interview. I had practiced the STAR format interview questions and had an answer for every question. After she stated that I had finished answering all her questions, I took the opportunity to ask a few of my own. However, upon asking "There are good adjusters and then there are great adjusters, what sets those two apart?" She informed me that my question would be better suited for the hiring manager in my location and that if I got the second interview, then I could ask those types of questions. This caught me off guard as I had a list of questions that I had planned to ask, but I didn't see the point with her response. I promptly got off the phone.
I think their whole process is too automated. I understand they are a big company, but at least one email could have been from a human. The automated responses give the feeling that you really are just another number to them, ready to replace the last adjuster that had a mental breakdown. My advice is to read the reviews for this particular position before applying/accepting.
