I applied online. I interviewed at Progressive Insurance (Riverview, FL)
Interview
The interview process with Progressive was pretty straightforward. Once I applied online, I was notified several days later that I met their initial qualifications and needed to proceed by taking an online assessment. The instructions were very clear and they told you to expect to hear back from them in 48 hours as to the results. I heard back from Progressive almost exactly 48 hours later. I was told that I did not meet the qualifications for the first job I applied to (Claims Customer Service Adjuster), but that I qualify for another position and that a recruiter would be in touch with me regarding this new position. Although I did have the education and the customer service exp. required for the claims job, I think they may have had candidates with specific experience in claims that were probably chosen. I then received an email regarding the Customer Service Representative job with the description. If interested, they would proceed with scheduling a phone interview. Once I responded to this email, I received a request for a phone interview about ten days later. What I appreciated with the written communication from Progressive is that they were always very professional and very clear with all of the instructions. The email for the phone interview described clearly how the process would take place and their use of the behavior questions (STAR). I would strongly suggest(as others have on this site) to make yourself very familiar with this type of interviewing technique. Progressive even gives you examples of the types of questions you will be asked. Make sure you prepare thoroughly and have examples from your past experiences ready to give when asked. Even though you know you are qualified for the position, you must be relaxed and well prepared to be very clear and articulate during your interview. The nerves can take over during the interview and ruin your chances of getting the job. This is my best piece of advice, be prepared. If the phone interview goes well, then you schedule your one on one interviews right then and there. You will receive an email with instruction on how your one on one interviews will take place. I met with two different supervisors and had the opportunity to listen in to some of the customer service calls. The format for the personal interviews was the same as the phone Interview (STAR). I was there a total of two hours and was told by the recruiter that she would be in touch two days later. I heard back from the recruiter as indicated with an offer and accepted. So far, I have been pleased with the whole process.
