The interview process with Progressive can be summed up with one word, extensive. Honestly, if you are looking for a quick offer, you are applying to the wrong company. The process begins with the online application/resume, I choose the application as I had not completed my resume updates yet.
You are given the opportunity to include a cover letter, it's a great way to state your case for why you
would make a good candidate. Several days later, I received an email stating that my application was accepted and that I would be moving on to the online assessment. While the assessment is not difficult, it is thorough. There were multiple questions which require you to use your intellect followed by a series of questions that should be answered from a customer service perspective. Once past the
assessment, I received another email stating that I was moving on in the process. From there I scheduled a phone interview for about a week out, be prepared to discuss your work history and to
answer many questions in the S.T.A.R interview format. My phone interview took an hour and was asked many different questions, though the interviewer was very nice and tried to put me at ease. At the end of the interview, I was informed that I would be moving on to the on site interview. It took an additional two weeks before the on site portion, that gave me plenty of time to reflect on my work history and to prepare. The manager I met with was very professional and personable, he did a great job of putting me at ease and getting me to relax. The interview took about an hour, maybe a bit more, the first part was mainly a conversation, this is where you can sell yourself and tell your story. The last half was spent discussing about a half dozen or so S.T.A.R questions while he took notes.
I was informed that interviews with other candidates were continuing and that they would have a decision within about a week.
