Protein Sciences interview questions

There was a detailed timeline from the HR office. There was enough time to prepare, a week or so. Questions to them were promptly answered prior to the meeting. All pertinent information was provided. The interview process was fair for the most part, including interview with the president. However, one of their senior employees seemed to have a chip on his shoulder. I didn't get the position and when inquired, few weeks later, the employee responded with a one-liner, 'you are not suitable for the position'. Even a naïve teenage knows how to break up with a guy or girl.
