I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Prudential (Newark, NJ) in Nov 2009
Interview
I had a phone interview with 3 people, some managers some technical (1,2). Questions were About previous experience , databases ( Oracle) Java, some scripting. This was followed by a 1:1. The questions were trck questions. No interest in my experience or topics advertised in the job specification. He jumped right on Spring frameworks questions ( Spring was never mentioned before) and specifically to the use of annotations in version 2. ..I just had a strange sensation he was pre programmed ... as he didn't have any reaction when I talked about xml base config and latency of reflection package.( like he almost was not aware of it). Strange

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Prudential (Newark, NJ) in Oct 2024
Interview
Initial phone screen to gauge interest and collect my information, Online technical assessment testing Angular, Java, SQL, and AWS knowledge, A virtual interview with two team members that was described to me as a "vibes interview".
I was told after the last interview to expect a follow-up with two more team members that would involve a more technical interview. I was never contact, despite me reaching out to multiple Prudential members involved in the process. Highly unprofessional behavior in my opinion.

Interview
One of the worst interviewing process. It is an insane wasting of time and incompetence in the way they handle technical interviews.
Their coding challenge takes a week/ for 10 hrs a day. They want you to write a fully functional game Boggle. Once you are done expect another 4 rounds, although you can't get it done since they don't let you know exactly what to expect and shut their eyes to your questions taking them in a formal way.
Be ready to hard algorithmic problems you'll need to work out in a short time, similar to ones you can expect from FAAMG.

Interview
There were one phone screen interview, one phone technical interview, and one on-site technical interview. She asked me what I was doing, why I wanted to find a new job, and what I did recently at the previous companies at the phone screen interview. And at the phone technical interview, he asked me some Java basic questions and Oracle questions. The level of questions was not difficult. At the on-site interview, three interviewers spent one hour each and asked me some Java and SQL related questions.
