The first interview was with the hiring manager, not a recruiter which I really appreciated to weed down what the manager actually wanted. I was told this was an emergency req so to expect the process to move quickly.
I did not hear from them for almost two weeks before HR contacted me to have a meeting to make sure I was still interested. I afirmed that I was and they scheduled another round with the hiring manager and his supervisor. The interview went well but they told me that they couldn't commit to a decision timeline.
Over the next four weeks, I followed up weekly. The hiring manager never responded and the internal recruiter just kept kicking the decision down the road. "No decision yet" or "Oh, he's on vacation so nothing yet." For an emergency req, they sure drug their feet before eventually doing the fade away.
I really liked the role and was genuinely interested but the lack of communication (even if just a straightforward no) really soured me on the process. I don't know if it is indicative of the org as a whole, but this was my experience.
