Asked what I knew about the company. Interviewer was impressed I knew the founder and when it was founded. The interview was very easy and no prior work experience was needed.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Publix (Chattanooga, TN) in Jun 2022
Interview
After talking to the manager several times before the interview, I was surprised when I was called in for an interview. I was extremely nervous, but it was fairly easy! He led me to the office and said “give me a second.” After shuffling around some papers, he asked me to tell him a little bit about myself, why I chose Publix over competitors who may be offering the same job, and what was my best skill in customer service. Then he asked me some kind of ice breaker question and if I had any questions for him. I would say that this was the difference maker for me. I responded with “How could I do my job better if hired” and “What is one thing that you wish you would have known when you were first hired that would have changed your experience for the better.” This seemed to impress him! Overall, don’t stress! This is a fun and semi-easy interview. I got a call back that afternoon with a job offer, but it took a week or so for the call to come with some of my coworkers.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why did you choose Publix for a job instead of one of our competitors such as Walmart?
Really was easy. Basically the only question asked was why I wanted to work there. I basically just said because I’ve always enjoyed going to Publix growing up and seeing all the employees with a smile made me know it was a good place to work.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Publix (Rolesville, NC) in Apr 2025
Interview
I applied online and I showed up at the job fair in both March to learn about the company and April to actually do my interview. It was for a new store they are opening in Rolesville.
