      Paid Media Manager Interview

      21 Apr 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Pulse Advertising in Apr 2026

      Interview

The interview process was disappointing, especially considering the amount of time and effort required. I was asked to prepare a fairly detailed task within a very short timeframe (2 days), which I completed thoroughly. During the second stage interview, the feedback delivery felt unnecessarily harsh and unprofessional. One interviewer opened with “sorry for being direct” before stating that although they were very interested after the first interview, the presentation was “really disappointing.” There was no constructive feedback or meaningful discussion to support this, which made the interaction feel more like criticism than a fair evaluation. Another interviewer appeared disengaged throughout both stages, which further impacted the overall experience. What stood out most was the lack of balance in feedback and tone. Directness is fine, but there’s a difference between being constructive and being dismissive. In hindsight, I wish I had paid more attention to existing employee reviews and ratings, as they seem to reflect the company culture quite accurately. Overall, the process did not feel respectful of candidates’ time or effort, and the interview experience did not reflect a positive or collaborative working environment.

Dear applicant, Thank you for taking the time to share this so thoroughly, it's clear you approached the process with a lot of care and effort, and we genuinely respect that. Directness is a core part of how we communicate at Pulse, and we believe honest feedback makes people and work better. That said, directness should always come with respect and context, if that balance was missing in your experience, that's something we want to take seriously. We do put thought into our interview process, and the task we ask candidates to complete reflects the real work we do, so we never take lightly the time people invest. Feedback, whether positive or not, should always feel fair and grounded, and we'll reflect on how we can make sure that's consistently the case. We wish you all the best for what comes next. Warmest, Vanessa
