I applied and received a follow up email for an interview request promptly. The interview was set up and confirmed. The interview focused on background and skills relevancy. During the interview itself with the hiring manager, it was obvious they were visibly uncomfortable just by their body language alone. Their tone and cadence was semi normal but it did seem like the hiring manager was looking for a particular type of candidate. My impression is that this person would not be the best manager or 'supervisor' due to a lack of emotional intelligence displayed during the interview. I asked for feedback when it was my turn to ask questions and received none. I asked this question to close the loop as far as using those insights for future reference. There is currently no established HR team at the moment but I can already conclude that if this ever happens, the team will be incredibly particular with folks who share more similarities as opposed to a nice range of individuals (with a diverse set of skills, etc).
