      Platform Engineer Interview

      15 Sept 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Auckland, Auckland
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Pushpay (Auckland, Auckland) in Apr 2016

      Interview

Three (or four) steps: Basic at home coding test, in the language of your choice Coffee interview (just a chat about me and the company). Sit down, have a coffee with one or 2 people who you might be working with (not just managers) Technical interval. Get grilled (nicely) by a team lead and a senior developer. Not as scary as it sounds, but not an easy hour either. full day "work in the office then review the code". Come in, work for the day on a real problem on the real codebase, have lunch with the team, and learn about how we build software. High pressure and exhausting, but very satisfying.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

while they are not trick questions (google style), telling people whats in the inteview would defeat a lot of the purpose.
