It was well structured and I felt clear on the process, role and expectations. I appreciated the questions and details about the role.I felt it was very proffesional as well.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Puttery
Interview
Recruiter reached out to me via email and asked to schedule an interview. I did for the next day via Calendly, and they were a no show. I emailed to follow up to see if we needed to reschedule and never heard back.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Puttery (New York, NY) in Sept 2023
Interview
During the screener call, I was asked to schedule a second interview on the spot and was told they urgently and immediately need to hire and that the second round MUST be in person. That felt like a red flag to me, but I agreed to go to get more information. They had no flexibility with my schedule and I had to cancel appointments and miss work to come in. They absolutely refused to compromise and do a video call. At the in-person interview, I was seated at a table with two of the interviewers. The CEO, however, sat off to the side of the room on a chair by the door. He was balancing on the back legs of his chair and looked bored. At one point I looked over at him and saw him texting. He also cut off the only female interviewer when she tried to ask me a question and talked over her as if she wasn't there. Another strange part of the interview was about their 5 day a week in-office requirement. I tried to ask if there would be any flexibility so that I could go to my weekly therapy appointments. The CEO told me that his commute is an hour and a half each way and he still comes in every day. That was his answer to my question. After I left, I was told they'd make a decision later that day and get back to me. It has now been 4 business days since the interview and I haven't heard from them. I assume they extended the offer to another candidate and am appalled that despite their inflexibility and after bum-rushing me to come in, they couldn't even send a thank you note and to formally notify me that I did not get the job.
