I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at QA (Manchester, England) in Jul 2017
Interview
Telephone interview and Aptitude test which led to an assessment centre/final interview.
QA Were carrying out the assessment centre on behalf of another employer and showed exactly what a disorganised and unprofessional team they are. A load of young people in suits running around pretending they are doing something.
You are split into 2 groups and told to create a Business Plan based on a application/game of some sort. You also needed to develop a Website. You had 3 Hours for entire task. Then you had to present all of this at the end of day for around 15 minutes.
My main issue is the fact they gave each group 2 Laptops , with no software for coding on them so we had to use Notepad. However, a member of the other team were allowed to use their own which had Applications such as Dream weaver and Photoshop which made development much easier/quicker for them.
In addition, The WiFi cut out every 3-4 Minutes and you would have to wait around 30 Seconds for it to respond each time.
If you can't provide adequate PCs with relating software and reliable Wifi, then let us know before hand and not allow one group to have a strong advantage because they bought their own computer.
