      Linux Expert/Tech Support Engineer Interview

      14 Nov 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Pomona, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at QNAP (Pomona, CA) in Apr 2016

      Interview

I came in and was asked to fill out a background check consent form, fill out any job history, and reference contact information, all of which took about an hour because there was a lot of redundancy paperwork-wise. After that, there was a logic test that I had to complete. It was a little lame because they gave me a photocopy of the original exam sheet, but someone had written the answers down, and they had not really bothered to either create a new exam, or get a new copy. When it came to the interview itself, the interviewer was nice enough and asked a lot of questions about my knowledge of Linux (commands and such), knowledge of the company, and what my hours of availability were. Afterwards, I was thanked and told I would hear back from them within 2-3 weeks.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What are some linux commands? What is your experience in customer service/helpdesk?
