I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Quad (New York, NY) in Sept 2023
Interview
It was definitely a lot of calls: Initial phone call with recruiter, virtual call with manager, panel interview with manager and team member, interview with head of department, interview with CMO.

Question 1
Tell me about a time there was a conflict and how you resolved it?
It was very straightforward with the interviewer asking about my skills and background. So far i’ve only been interviewed once and further interviews are going to happen. So overall good so far.
I applied online. I interviewed at Quad (Keasbey, NJ) in Jun 2026
Interview
I had a phone screening for the Premedia Production Coordinator position. The recruiter explained that the next step would be a hiring manager review to potentially schedule a Teams interview. Less than 24 hours later, I received a generic "position filled" email. When I followed up, I was told that they had moved forward with another candidate and extended an offer that morning.
The entire phone screen lasted only about 9 minutes. The process felt very rigid and formulaic, leaving little to no room for genuine conversation. When I asked a standard question at the end about what success looks like in the first 30-90 days, I was told that wasn't in their department and would be a question for the next interview stage. Because of that, the call left the impression that the process was moving forward, making the immediate automated rejection feel very contradictory. It was disappointing to go through a screening for a role that was already being closed out.

Question 1
A formulaic behavioral question about project ownership from start to finish. The phrasing was complex and not very intuitive, making it a difficult hurdle for information already on my resume.
