I applied online, shortly after I was contacted via email by a recruiter. She did not seem experienced, looked her up on Linkedin, previously had only worked one other position that was not related to hr or recruiting. It took several emails to be able to set up a physical meeting where I was supposed to show up in person. Next day, she emailed me back. I was let down to hear that it had been changed to a phone interview.
The recruiter never contacted me back on the day that the phone interview was scheduled for. I had to reach out by email that same day. Finally, the next day, she replied back over email, rescheduling the interview to the next week. Next week she called, still five minutes late. Thought the interview went well. Perhaps she felt bad or guilty about it, who knows, perhaps she blamed me for not being able to make her interview. Either way, after completing the phone interview, I apparently didn’t make her (unexperienced) cut and was eliminated from proceeding farther in the hiring process. They seemed interested enough to contact me and schedule an interview. I have experience in both interviewing as well as my profession / field. I’m not sure what the problem was.
I was not impressed with the process, the initial application process where I delivered information to them went fast and smooth. However, the rest of the process as well as the phone interview, I would say were a negative experience and a let down; surprisingly, since their ratings say differently. I did not consider the overall process professional. Next time, please use someone experienced.
