I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Quo in Jun 2026
Interview
The interview process was well-structured, clear, and efficient. It began with an initial recruiter screening call to discuss my background and the role, followed by a take-home assignment designed to evaluate practical skills relevant to the position. After that, I had a final interview with team leads, which felt conversational and gave me a good understanding of the team, expectations, and company culture. Throughout the process, communication was timely and transparent, and I always knew what the next steps were.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One of the key questions asked during the process was how I would approach supporting a customer through a technical issue, including how I would troubleshoot the problem, communicate with the customer, and ensure a clear resolution while maintaining a positive experience.
I applied online. I interviewed at Quo in Jun 2026
Interview
The process started with an initial recruiter screen, followed by a hiring manager interview. After that, there was a final interview loop with several focused conversations: a system design / technical aptitude interview, a team and values interview, a product collaboration / product sense interview, and an engineering management and leadership interview. The recruiter shared helpful prep material ahead of the final round, and the process felt well organized and transparent overall.

Question 1
They asked me to evaluate an existing system design, talk through what I would keep or change, and explain the tradeoffs behind those decisions.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Quo (Montreal, QC) in May 2026
Interview
The process was as follows:
1. 30-minute call with the recruiter.
2. 1-hour Team Matching Interview: a conversation with a Senior Director of Engineering covering my experience and some behavioural questions.
3. 1-hour Technical Interview: a live debugging session with a Senior Engineer and a Staff Engineer.
4. 1-hour Values & Product Sense Interview: a discussion with an Engineering Manager focused on situational and behavioural questions.
5. 1-hour System Design Interview with a Senior Engineer.
The entire process spanned roughly three weeks, though it could likely be completed more quickly depending on your availability. Interviews 3–5 were scheduled over a Wednesday and Thursday, and I received feedback the following week. Overall, the turnaround was very fast.
For interviews 3–5, the recruiter provided detailed preparation material outlining what to expect and how to prepare. I would strongly recommend following those guidelines and giving yourself enough time to prepare, as they accurately reflect the interview format and expectations.
Overall, it was one of the best interview experiences I've had. I was interviewing with another company during the same period, and the difference in approach from both the recruiters and interviewers was striking. There was a very human element throughout the process that further reinforced my interest in the opportunity.
Everyone I spoke with was thoughtful, welcoming, and genuinely enjoyable to interact with. At no point did I feel like interviewers were trying to prove themselves technically or "stump" candidates. The conversations were collaborative, respectful, and ego-free.
The recruiter was especially great throughout the process: responsive, proactive with follow-ups, generous with preparation resources, and consistently encouraging from start to finish.
