      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at RH (West Hollywood, CA) in Jan 2023

      Interview

Initial phone interview, followed by an in-person interview, then followed by several additional in-person interviews with multiple team members. There were several in-person interviews. In total I believe I met with at least eight individuals for an associate sales position.

      Question 1

Tell us a little bit about yourself? Why are you interested in working for RH? How do you embody the company values?
      Answer question

      Application

      I interviewed at RH

      Interview

Done in multiple phases starting virtually and ending with a couple interviews with different people at their Short Hills location. I really respected their ethos but found some of the people I interviewed with to be generally out of touch.. and got a stuck up vibe. The second person I interview with did not even know you needed a license to practice interior design in NY and NJ.. I ask the people working at this company to really think about what it is they actually do at RH, because to me it does not fall under the definition of interior design.

      Question 1

What do you notice about this [restoration hardware] space? Pointing to the rh decorated short hills showroom.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at RH (Chicago, IL) in May 2020

      Interview

I was required to participate in a group interview, which was rather insulting on the surface. What that told me immediately about this employer was that they didn't consider my credentials professional enough to merit a more serious one-on-one interview with the hiring manager. The interview host went around the table and asked everyone the same questions, and of course there were a dozen slightly different responses to each question.

      Question 1

Think of a time when you went over and above to exceed a customer's expectations.
