I applied online for the job posting and heard back from them after a few weeks. I had one phone interview before they called me in for an office interview with the group. The interview focused on my experience and the responsibilities of the job. I received positive feedback over the course of the office interview. At the very end of the interview they indicated that they were looking for someone who was willing to stay in this same position for the next 5-10 years. They told me the target salary, which ended up being 50% under the market value for the position. A couple days after the office interview, I approached them with the market value of the position and told them I would consider the position if they were willing to compete with the rest of the market. They were unwilling to do so, and ended to the interview process at that point. It appeared to me that the company was looking to hire people who were content with just coasting and would not question what they would be paid in the future. This is certainly not a company to work with if you want to be valued and rewarded for your efforts.
