The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Reading International (New York, NY) in Jul 2010
Interview
At the time, management was having a job fair like interviewing process where there were several different people applying for the same position. While waiting in the lobby, you can tell that at certain times and days it can get a bit slow so the fact that getting paid 7.50 doesn't seem too bad. Once it was my turn to meet the manager, I noticed how warm her personality was and that she was really open to see just what im really about. The questions mostly considered things like interests in movies and experiences with cash registers and customer service. The interviewer was really upfront about all the pros and cons of working there so no future employee could not say they were not informed. Lastly, I believe it took about 3-4 weeks for the company to call back to discuss starting dates.
