Lead Frontend Engineer (JavaScript) (m/f/d) Interview

      15 Nov 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Real in Oct 2023

      Interview

The recruiter reached out to me on linked in and then asked me for a take home project. The recruiter rushed me, i had asked several relevant questions on how the app would be used and scaled. I got some yes no answers for the questions which was very disappointing. You expect someone to put 3 days to build something and you dont provide enough details and reject them without any feedback. I have coded multiple customer facing websites that get visit in the billions so I know what I am doing. I decided to not use any complexity/premature optimization based on the answers provided. I also added a system design and added some tests to show that I could write unit tests. I will remind myself of never doing a take home exercise again. Its a waste of your time. Only do a take home if the onsite interview is confirmed.
