I applied online. I interviewed at Rebellion in May 2026
Interview
Standard interview process. From application to final call it took about a month. I first had an initial call with the internal recruiter to assess the standard requirements, salary and working arrangements (hybrid), then a call with the Senior Video Editor and the Head of Community. Finally I had a call over the phone with the internal recruiter, when I was told my application had been rejected. The manner in which I was rejected I thought was unwarranted, insulting and untrue - apparently I was simply "not passionate enough". Considering I have two decades of experience in the creative industries, and the salary was profoundly low for the position, I was applying because I love video production and I love what Rebellion is known for - games and comics. I found the feedback and the way it was given, verbal as opposed to written, questionable.

Question 1
Standard interview questions - Why was I applying, what did I know about Rebellion and their products, why was my background and experience relevant to the role, was I happy with the proposed working arrangement and responsibilities, etc
Jumped through hoops for the process but didn’t get any feedback. Strange to recently have seen who got the job and how they’ve had 7 jobs in the last 6 years, not even all of those were in Recruitment. Completely unfair and bias process.
I would not bother applying to this company, at least judging by my experience. After putting time into my CV and cover letter, and being told I would hear back within a week, I was ghosted. There is nowhere to follow up, as the communications come from a noreply. I feel I was a decent candidate and deserved a response at least.
