I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Rite Aid in Jan 2011
Interview
It was like walking into a Zombie land store. One old cashier probably 65+ was down on her knees putting away toothpaste. I asked her were the store manager was and she didn't try to get up she just pointed and said warehouse. I had gone in a few times with my mom but never really looked at anything. The store is big and at first I couldn't find the warehouse doors. I found the manager in the back and she was piling up these huge boxes full of things. It looked like she was going to die! The warehouse was full and yet this one little old manager was trying to organize it all by herself. I didn't really picture myself doing this sort of work and wondered if I could even help the situation. She asked me if I had any experience in this type of work and i explained to her my customer service experience. She stopped me and told me that most work would be done in the store was very physical. I thought I would be walking around the store helping customers. So i asked "Do you need someone walking around assisting customers?" She laughed hysterically and started piling up boxes again. After a few moments she stopped looked at me and said "We really don't have extra hours, but I need someone to help me around here." She took me around the store and showed me all these different things that they do every day. I was shocked i had never noticed the blue dots and it seemed kind of stupid. After the manager was called away three times, i finally asked if she wanted me to come back later. Instead she offered me a job. I told her that I had to think about it and then walked as quick as I could out the door. I don't know what exactly it was but something told me to run like hell!
They were relatively friendly and polite. They had multiple schedules and a little bit understaffed so not all were available. Still a good starter job and professional interview w a manager.
Very thorough and professional. They want to know and make sure that you are able to stay on your feet and be proactive around the store. They are very welcoming and look forward to training new employees
I submitted online application, get scheduled for an interview and then i walk in,managet asked me some questions, hire on spot. Easy procress, as long as they have vacancy, usually get hired.
