I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Ross Stores (Hillsboro, OR) in Jul 2015
Interview
Met with one of the managers and talked for about 30 mins about the job position and my past experience in retail. Then had to take a knowledge test. Which they do that once you get the job. That's part of your training and that takes about a few days to complete until you start working on the sales floor.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What customer service means to me. What did I do at my previous jobs. How would I handle a situation if there was an angry customer?
Very awkward over all, they kept trying to 'trick' me by changing up certain words and seeing if id catch the change in the question. Also put you on some super old school website training.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked if I was someone who got hurt often or had bad things happen to me often
The interview process at Ross Dress for Less consisted of meeting with a store manager to discuss my customer service experience, cash handling skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment. I was asked situational questions about handling customers, teamwork, and resolving problems. The process was straightforward and focused on my availability, work ethic, and ability to support store operations
Fast and easy! They mainly asked about my previous work experiences and my availability. They also asked what great customer service is like to you and why I would be a good fit to the company.
