I applied online. I interviewed at Ryanair (Milan) in Apr 2019
Interview
My recruitment day was in Italy.
After sending my CV to Ryanair, I got an online test to do. There were 17 questions connected with proper behaviour on board and job in general. One day later I got a message that I was invited for the recruitment day in Bergamo (I could choose a city).
There were about 50 candidates and 2 ladies from Ireland. They greeted us and checked our documents (passport + full-length photo). Then we wrote an English test. There were 2 versions. Each included 10 questions with answers to choose a/b/c/d. There were very easy; basic English. My test group had to write a PA about a new meal deal offert. The other version of a test included writing a note to your supervisor about a drunk or angry passenger.
Then we had to wait 40minutes for the results. All the Italian and Polish (there were 2 candidates from Poland) candidates passed the exam. People from Africa, asian and arabic country failed. Maybe 1 man from Asia passed a test. I don't remember.
After that we watched a video presentation about the job and working conditions. One of the ladies was talking about the job only positively. She was smiling artificially all the time. She didn't even say about the disadvantages of the job and avoided talking about the catches/snags. For example: she said that cabin crew members pay just 7,5€ + taxes for a plane ticket. But she didn't mention that you can't use these tickets, because you need to wait at the end of a queue at the airport and ask if there is a spare seat for you. So in reality you can't use these tickets, because there are no spare seats on board! If you want to fly somewhere in 2 weeks you can't buy the ticket now! In 2 weeks you need to go to the airport, stand in the queue and ask: is there any ticket left? But all the tickets are already sold!!!
After that stupid presentation we had face to face interviews. Two Ryanair ladies were interviewing in the same time, I mean: 1 lady+ 1 candidate.
My interview was ridiculous. I prepared myself very well, I know everything about Ryanair etc., but in fact she just asked me a few basic questions (i will write them down), filled the entry form and bye bye.
I got the job, but I declined the offer, because:
- the salary is just like... nothing :-( ;
- you can't choose the base;
- this job is veeery tough;
- if you give up on this job during the first year, you need to pay a fine!
- etc.
Easy and smooth, the recruiter was really nice and I had to do an English test before it started. I got asked about tattoos, my abilities to swim and piercings. Make sure you are dressed smart
First there are a few tests to be done online. Then the interview was done externally with a person from crewlink via Zoom call. Overall a very relaxed and sort of colloquial conversation
