      Sales Operations Specialist Interview

      7 Feb 2019
      Anonymous employee
      San Francisco, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Rylo (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2018

      Interview

They found me via LinkedIn seeing that my skills matched what they were looking for. - I did an over the phone call with the Hiring manager to get a better feel for my skills, then they advised me that they wanted to schedule an onsite interview. - I got a call from HR to ask me why I was looking into this company, what I thought about the role, and to get a gauge on my personality as well - Onsite consisted of 5 one-on-one interviews back to back speaking with various members of the team. - I met with 2 people of the team I would be working with including the hiring manager, 2 people from different teams to assess my personality and culture fit, co-founder for a personality fit, and lastly HR came in to help with any other questions I had and wrap up the process - The onsite interview takes up most of the day, but since the company is only about 30 people, you get to have a really good feel for who you would be working with - They were very upfront on the type of people they want to invite to the team always mentioning wanting someone with a curious mind, who was willing to go dig in the dirt to find the answer if no one had it, fun, etc Pros: They have a great product, great team dynamic, smart people who are go-getters and want to see the company succeed. Cons: It's intimidating interviewing at Rylo knowing that the team used to work at Apple, Instagram, Square, and went to amazing schools. However, when I met with everyone, they made me feel very welcomed and comfortable. The people I interviewed with are very smart, driven, and humble.

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Rylo (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2018

      Interview

It is a start-up company with no more than 30 people working there. The hiring manager reached me from LinkedIn. 1 phone call interview with the hiring manger. Then the Recruiter (HR) call me schedule an on-site interview. Before that, HR arrange another phone call interview with me which is normal check about the reason why I want to work for the company and what I thought about the role. After that, an on-site interview with 6 people in Rylo in the office scheduled. Everything went well while at last HR schedule a meeting with me for 30mins then just 1 sentence to turn me down with no reason. I never received an meeting schedule for 30mins just want to turn me down. So odd. If you want to fail me, just call me or send me e-mail. Why schedule a meeting for 1 sentence. So annoyed. The hiring process purely like start-up since they don't care about your time for all the talks. When I reached the hiring manager who looked for me from LinkedIn and he has no feedback/reply as well. I may remember that he said "we are a start-up and we cannot pay you as same as your rate but we have equity." So I would like to say, it is just a start-up, no good process about hiring, little cost for them to ask some candidates to their site and spent 4 hours talk with different functions. I would say, if they ask you to an on-site interview, please consider all the cost you need to take before you move further with them. And to be honest, it is hard for them to pay you for your experiences for marketing range and they will turn you down with no reason.
