I interviewed at SAGE Dining Services (Chicago, IL) in Mar 2025
Interview
I had a great phone interview with the corporate recruiter. We talked for over an hour. She called me back a week later and set me up with an in-person interview at the school where the position would be. I arrived 20 minutes early and met the Regional Director. We spoke for 5 minutes and then he told me "we" had to prepare lunch for a parent/teacher event. We went into the kitchen and I worked for 2 hours to prepare lunch. I have not heard from them and I was not paid for the 2 hours I worked, which is illegal. I looked at my application on Indeed and saw that I was "not selected" for the position. Seems like they just needed some free labor for the day. They could not have served lunch to the teachers and parents on time that day without my help. Says everything I need to know about they type of company this is.
General questions, how long have you worked, etc Salary requirements. Date to start. Thought it went well. Interviewer was very clear and concise. Place felt fine as a workplace. Quick email and phone call responses.

Interview
Applied online via LinkedIn job posting. Was asked to do a virtual interview over Zoom. They were overall pretty prompt and responsive, which was appreciated. Did not get invited back.
