I was contacted by a team manager, not HR, who didn’t even ask for my updated CV. Instead, he simply copied my LinkedIn profile, which, of course, doesn’t include the majority of the tech stack I’ve worked with. During the technical interview process, he was also quite disrespectful.
One of the first questions in the technical Java interview was about the disadvantages of working in my three most recent workplaces. After I answered, he questioned why I was even applying to SEB if I disliked my previous workplaces so much and suggested I look for a job at a startup or a smaller company instead.
During the interview, there were two people present: the team manager and a technical specialist. Surprisingly, the technical specialist had less expertise in Java than I did and didn’t fully understand some of the terms I was using. He didn’t even know that S.O.L.I.D. principles are a fundamental part of OOP.
The next day, I received a call from the team manager, who ironically stated that we weren’t a good fit because, according to him, my attitude toward work was wrong. This conclusion was based on the negative feedback about my previous workplaces that he had explicitly asked me to provide.
