      Process Engineer Interview

      12 Sept 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Johor Bahru
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Samtec (Johor Bahru) in May 2019

      Interview

Good session. Detail in technical process and how the fulfillment of legal requirement will be achieved. The interviewer is very concern and particular in the scope of job that I applied. Asking also for the further career path that I look into. Experience of mine, make the session easier than I thought.

      Process Engineer Interview

      17 Dec 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Samtec in Sept 2019

      Interview

I went to an onsite interview after a 30min phone interview from a VP. The trip was good and the building was very nice. Issues showed up during the facility tour. The lab was not ready and there was no equipment for me to fulfill the work listed on job description. Also, the hiring team had no idea about who my manager will be. At the end of the whole day onsite interview, a lot of non-sense questions were raised during my presentation. Most of the questions were not related to the job description because I can tell they had no idea about how the technique works. So I had to find a way to stop them wasting my time. When I asked the whole team when the equipment will be ready. The VP said someone in a sister site is using it and they will send the equipment over later. That didn't smell right at all because once the equipment was sent out, the engineer will probably lose his job. It is the same as a soldier with no weapon on his hands. It is definitely a red flag and I can guarantee that there are heavy office politics behind the scene. So I knew it was not going to work out.
