      Project Manager Interview

      11 Oct 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Sealaska

      Interview

First interview with HR was fine. Second interview with manager was fine. Third interview with other PMs was a disaster. HR forgot to send me the link to the meeting so I had to request it the morning of the interview. Three PMs interviewed me with basic questions, but one of them kept interrupting my responses with hostile commentary - every single response. His questions were basic, criticizing the wording of my resume. Halfway through, I wanted to hang up. I no longer wanted the job. At the end, they explained they were “grilling” me to see how I would deal with an irate customer. This is not an appropriate way to conduct an interview. You run the risk of the applicant not wanting to work with them, which is what happened. At the end of the call, I’d already decided to not pursue the job. It’s one thing to be in the fire with customers every day, but to have volatility demonstrated by potential team members is very off-putting. Not a reasonable way to interview a candidate.
