The interview process was a normal interview process. Once I was hired, there was a racial remark made on the FIRST day of employment and the owners acted concerned once I told them. After I voiced my concern and decided to leave briefly to ponder what had just happened, I then wanted to turn the negative into a positive and continue working with the company since they acted as if it was a misunderstanding when I met with them about it. I was ignored when I reached out. They made it seem like they were so sorry, but I believe a truly sorry person in BUSINESS would show that by demonstrating positive reinforcement in the work place, instead they ignored me. If you begin working somewhere and on the first day a racist remark is made and you’re naturally taken aback & if the owner doesn’t make it right by you once you’ve stated there can be a solution, (because I’m obviously the bigger person and was not raised in hate) it says to me and anyone else that they obviously don’t see perceived racism on the first day of employment as a concern of theirs. Acknowledge it, but ignore the bigger picture. Ignorance at its finest.
