      Submitted Application online, contacted by Lauren via email stating I made it through the screening process. Two assessments that follow, aptitude and behavior. At this point I have had NO conversation with the recruiter or anyone else. I took the assessments, followed up with Lauren, in which I received no reply, followed by an email stating they decided to move forward with someone else. Keep in mind this position was posted within the last week on LinkedIn. That was my experience, and honestly it was a terrible one. I didn't get to have a conversation with anyone. It was solely based on the assessments. I think this is unfair, as you don't get to see someone for who they really are. I am a "bad" test taker and I get anxiety when I take any form of standardized test/assessment especially when they are timed. I have had 6+ years experience in the technology industry and 6+ successful years. I completely made a career change, essentially starting over when the majority of people my age have been in their careers for year already. I have proven myself and I think it shows a lot about a company that "weeds" people out base on assessments without actually having a conversation and an opportunity to show who they are and what they bring to the table. The lack of communication and any kind of introduction/feedback is very unprofessional of the recruiters in my opinion. All candidates deserve a fair shot and deserve to be treated in a professional manner.

SecureLink is a great place to work, as you can see from our employee reviews. As you can imagine, we field thousands of resumes every year and while we'd like to give every single candidate an opportunity to interview onsite, it's simply not feasible. You’re right, our process is a little atypical, but for good reasons, I’d like to share with you here. SecureLink has a unique culture. and because we value that uniqueness and diversity more than what university our candidates attended or where our candidates last worked. Because of that, we include two assessments in our process that, we find, help predict your success in our environment. It’s also important to note that the assessment is just one data point among many when we review candidates.
