      Processing Geophysicist Interview

      31 Dec 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Seismic Exchange in Oct 2014

      Interview

Had a very basic interview at my univeristy with an HR person and an employee in the position I was applying for. Received a follow-up email a few days later asking me to come to the office for an on-site interview. It lasted from 9am until 2pm. They were very accommodating.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Took a math exam first thing when I arrived. It was fairly basic stuff like geometry and algebra from high school, but I could have used a refresher.

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Seismic Exchange

      Interview

The process took several weeks. A "high school" math test was given. I was asked how I saw myself fitting in. "Fit" is a huge part of the interview process. They really try to sell the company as family and friend oriented. The interview process is entirely too long for these types of questions and statements. You are hiring an employee not electing a Pope.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Why did you apply for this job? How do you feel about working with young people? Can you sit for long hours looking at a computer screen?

I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Seismic Exchange in Jan 2014

      Interview

Very smooth process. Company was fair and acted quickly. Got to see a lot of different people in the company and hear about the culture, which is important to me.
