I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Select Medical (Des Moines, IA) in Aug 2016
Interview
Lengthy process with phone interview with recruiter, 2 face to face interviews locally and a phone interview with a regional team member. Resulted in several weeks of negotiations for salary. Position offered
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Select Medical (Ann Arbor, MI) in Mar 2018
Interview
Initial interview with recruiter over the phone. This was a pleasant experience, and conversational. Next was a formal interview with the local CEO in Ann Arbor. When I arrived 15min early I was left waiting almost an hour before he had time for me. He was clearly arrogant and repeatedly referred to himself as "The CEO". His questions seemed to come directly from a google search. The experience was very awkward, with long periods of silence at the end of my responses to the pre printed questions he ask. It was as though he had no clue what he was asking and required an extensive amount of time to comprehend my response. Any question I had for him was followed by a rambling response not at all related to my question. He seemed irritated that I would have the audacity to have questions for him. This was a very uncomfortable and demeaning experience.

It was a tiered level interview process, starting with recruiter, which was a good experience, then CEO which was a great process and ending with corporate senior level management, this which was the least professional encounter.
