I applied online. I interviewed at Sezzle (Toronto, ON) in May 2023

      Interview

      Interview

Title: Sezzle's Hiring Process is a Waste of Time and Disrespectful Review: I applied for a position at Sezzle as a Sales Development Representative. After submitting my resume and cover letter, I was asked to complete an IQ test with over 300 questions! This is insane! I felt like I was being tested on my ability to take a test, rather than my ability to do the job. I am a qualified candidate with a strong track record of success in sales. I am confident that I would have been a valuable asset to Sezzle, but I was turned off by the company's unprofessional hiring practices. I would not recommend Sezzle to anyone. The company's IQ test is a waste of time and unprofessional. I would encourage potential candidates to avoid Sezzle and find a company that values their time and respects their intelligence. I urge Sezzle to reconsider its hiring practices and to find a more effective way to assess potential candidates. I would also like to add that the job market is extremely one-sided in favor of employers right now. This is a time when employers can afford to be picky and demanding, and it is unfair to ask candidates to complete lengthy and time-consuming assessments as a condition of even being considered for a job. Sezzle's IQ test is a prime example of this. It is a waste of time and energy for both candidates and employers, and it does nothing to ensure that the company is hiring the best possible candidates. I urge Sezzle to reconsider its hiring practices and to find a more effective way to assess potential candidates. In addition to the IQ test, I also found the overall hiring process to be very disorganized and unprofessional. Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience with Sezzle. The company's hiring practices are a waste of time and disrespectful to potential candidates. I would not recommend Sezzle to anyone.

      Sales Development Representative (SDR) Interview

      12 May 2023
      Anonymous employee
      Minneapolis, MN
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Sezzle (Minneapolis, MN) in Apr 2023

      Interview

I applied through Indeed, and directly on Sezzle's site I believe. It was 4 weeks before I heard anything back initially, I actually thought I never even made it past the initial screening, but I didn't try and reach anyone who could have given me an update before I was on step 3. After my first interview, process moved quickly. 1) emailed wonderlic test (like an IQ / ACT style test + personality test) 2) Write a cold email 'take home test' typical for an SDR role 3) submit a 60 second video 'creative elevator pitch' for Sezzle 4) Interview with SDR manager, AEs 5) Interview with Sales Leadership (VP sales, Sales Director

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Solid tech sales questions for an SDR; Why sales, Why Sezzle, Sales Process/experience etc - along with normal interview questions. No weird questions from left field. Dress well, but conversational interview with the goal of getting to know you and fit with Sezzle.
