I applied online. I interviewed at Shaka Wear in Mar 2026
Interview
Thought I was going into an HR screening and was met on call with two men who did not introduce themselves. Then they launch into their standard "screening questions" which were the largest red flags I have had the displeasure of trying to answer. Overall, it seems they are looking for someone who is okay with being overworked, emotionally abused forever and foster zero career growth. Do not even waste 40 minutes talking to these people. There is obviously some sort of reactive, abusive person in leadership who is looking for their next punching bag. Every line of questioning took the negative spin in every way imaginable. Hard pass.

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Shaka Wear (Houston, TX)
Interview
I recently interviewed for a role at Shaka Wear, going through two rounds: a phone interview and an in-person meeting with the CEO. After a lengthy interview process, I was left frustrated when the CEO stopped responding, essentially ghosting me. To make matters worse, I was later contacted by someone else from the company to interview for the same position, which felt like the process was being reset entirely.
During the in-person interview, I was taken aback by a comment from the CEO. He mentioned that he had recently fired four engineers and that the role was now open. He then added that having fewer people would make managing the team easier. This left me confused and uncomfortable, as it seemed to reflect a concerning attitude toward employee turnover and management.
Overall, my experience with this company was disappointing. It raised serious red flags about the leadership style and company culture, making me hesitant to consider them as a potential employer. I would advise others to be cautious and carefully assess the values and communication practices of the leadership before pursuing opportunities here.

Interview
Received a super random email ask me if I can come to interview without any details, I kindly asked the sender if they can provide more detail about the job post because I don't recall if I ever applied any position at the company. They replied me with question mark and saying they will pass on the interview. The whole interaction was very unprofessional and rude. The email itself contained grammar errors, the tone was very rude. Never seen this kind of interview invitation in my life.
