100% bait & switch.
The interview was basically a sham. They advertised a CMO role, but once I was there to interview they "weren't ready to hire a CMO". The President/Owner didn't even bother coming to the interview, which was the first clue that it wasn't on the up and up.
Before the interview, candidates were asked to complete a 3-4 page essay style survey, and so you would think that they would be prepared with your answers and you wouldn't have to fill out more paperwork. Wrong.
I was subjected to ridiculous requests like would I be willing to work part-time (which would violate my non-compete, and just NO), or would I be willing to come in and take a days worth of skills-based tests, even though I've got 12 years of experience in my industry and position. Not only can I demonstrate and provide examples of my experience (and extreme competence) in my practice areas, it's flat out insulting to be asked to take a test to prove it.
Then there were additional personality tests and I was even asked to complete a credit check authorization.
Given the company's statements on their own character, principles, and values I felt the process was dishonest and entirely duplicitous in nature, not to mention a complete waste of 3 hours.
