I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Shaw Industries (Dalton, GA) in Jun 2021
Interview
I applied online.
I was then asked to do a recorded video interview.
After a week of hearing nothing I was called for a zoom style interview with the team. I was told they'd have an offer in a week if I was selected.
After two weeks I reached out for feedback and was told I'd been selected for a portfolio review. They then asked me for samples of my work (which I had submitted to them when I initially applied?)
The portfolio review was an in-depth conversation about each project including my workflow and a few questions about pre-pro/budget.
After two more weeks I was told I'd have yet another interview with yet another person in the dept.
At this point the process has taken nearly 3months! It is obvious to me Shaw has no idea what they're looking for in a video specialist. It was made clear to me that this is a new role and they have 3(!) similar roles listed all at different salary ranges.
The conversations indicate a company that has no idea how to hire video editors or producers and seems to be trying to figure it out as they go along.
They re list this job every 3 days as well, so I would suggest qualified candidates look elsewhere.
