      Interview

They use the SMART interview methods. A lot of situation based questions, and questions to gauge your personality and work ethic. Be prepared for questions regarding previous work experiences.

      Question 1

Describe a situation where yo had to show leadership skills

      Application

      I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Sherwin-Williams in Jan 2023

      Interview

Phone call, followed by store visit/tour, followed by final interview at district office. Phone call and store visit were very pleasant and got me excited about the job. District office interview was more difficult but good questions. Did not get an offer in the end which surprised me bc I was 100% confident I would have succeeded in the job. Although I acknowledge I could have done better in the final interview and I don't think I would have accepted the offer anyway. Slightly salty, sorry. Not sure who they're looking for. Could have cut me off after the phone call and saved the time.

Any experience with paint or construction? What did you take away from the store visit?

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Sherwin-Williams (Jacksonville, FL) in Feb 2018

      Interview

I applied online for the Program, and got an email from the recruiter a few days later, asking me to schedule a phone interview with her. That interview went pretty well. There were a lot of "tell me about a time" questions. Next, she asked me to schedule a store visit with the manager of a local store, which I did the very next day. The store visit also went well, and was very informative and interesting. I really liked the store manager and he was very welcoming. Next, the recruiter contacted me and scheduled an interview with the DM for a few days later. The interview with the DM also seemed to go fairly well, although he threw quite a few curve ball questions at me, and seemed really suspicious of my varied job history, and really drilled me on why I left my last position, even though I left it in good standing. At the end of the DM interview, I felt pretty good about it and the DM mentioned he would be in contact with the recruiter shortly. The following day, I sent an email to the recruiter, informing her that I had met with the DM and thanked her for her assistance thus far, and asked her to keep in touch with me regarding the next steps. An hour later I received the standard automated, vague rejection email from SW saying that they were not going to move forward with my application. I thought that was kind of unprofessional that the recruiter couldn't have sent me an email herself, and that they didn't provide additional information for the rejection. I felt kind of betrayed, especially since everyone had seemed highly interested in me up to that point. As much as they rushed me through the process, I felt that they already had chosen someone else, and were just interviewing me as a courtesy. Either way, it's their loss, as I would have been a great asset to the company.
