After I received an offer from Shift Labs and tried to re-negotiate I was met with an unexpected and unpleasant reaction from the hiring manager. It was a slightly awkward call that ended rather quickly. I asked for a 12% increase, fully expecting them to bring that down. The manager promised to get back to me but left me in the dark until I reached back out to them late in the day. When they finally got back to me, they declined my ask and stuck to the original offer despite stating in earlier conversations that the offer was negotiable. I accepted that offer but didn't receive any kind of reply until the following week when they decided to rescind it all-together. Overall, it said a lot about how Shift Labs values the time and quality of their interview candidates. Don't waste your time if you don't want to be undervalued and dropped for the better deal rather than your qualifications.
