I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Shopify in Jan 2023
Interview
I did an interview at Shopify, in the hiring page they mentioned that you don't need to write the best practice, just try to solve the test. Also, the CoderPad platform had issues and I took almost 5 minutes to discover the issue, and the interviewer didn't know the issue as well. and hence a lot of time wasted. so I did the task in 50 mins. after a week I received an email with a rejection. and the reason was that I couldn't finish the task in the actual time.

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Shopify (Reggio nell'Emilia)
Interview
I was interviewed by a data scientist and the whole technical interview lasted for an hour. It was fun but I didn’t solve the technical question on the spot.
The interview was efficient and pretty short. I was told that there would be another interview to meet with the team if I passed the technical :(

Question 1
Technical question about algorithm time complexity and list data structure.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Shopify (Toronto, ON) in Oct 2019
Interview
The interview process is long and a little unprofessional at the end in my opinion. It's going well for the first three rounds. Initial phone interview with a recruiter, then a video technical interview with a developer, and then a video life story interview with the recruiter. Each round takes a week. After the life story interview, the recruiter put me in contact with an onsite interview coordinator who, a week later, confirmed to schedule my onsite interviews the following week but nothing happened. I asked for a status update via email and got a reply the next week that said the teams that were hiring for senior web developer position are now hiring a more senior level position and the hiring process for this year is finished. They will be doing hiring planning for quarter 1 next year very soon and will contact me if there are future positions that are fit for me.
It is frustrating that I have gone through multiple rounds of interviews and got my hope really high and was getting ready for the final round, then the position is filled(I'm assuming) without me finishing the whole interview process. I understand that it is a busy time for the teams and everything but it is unprofessional to take the chance away from a potential candidate who cancelled everything and has been waiting for the final round for 2 weeks.
