I responded to a Craigslist ad for a potential receptionist position and was immediately brought in to interview with their Office Manager, Mayra.
During my meeting with Mayra, with some your usual interview questions, she had asked if I was interested in an Accounting Assistant position as I had QuickBooks on my resume.
Of course being that this was my first office job, I could not turn down another opportunity that was presented to me, so I told her that I have never been in Accounting before and she told me that it would be fine as I would learn everything I would need to know in the training.
As soon as I gave her the Ok, she walks me over to the current Accounting Assistant at that time for a "hands on" interview. This is where I watched what the day-to-day would be like for that position and showed in the last hour that I grasped the general knowledge of the position.
