I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sincere in Feb 2024
Interview
The process is listed on their website but goes as follows. Chat with VP -> Take home -> Take home "walkthrough" -> Call with the team -> 24h challenge -> 1:1 with CEO.
After a wonderful call with Adam Rubin I was really high on this company. I got the take home and did it over that night returning it the next morning.
I booked the next step about a week later. The Interviewer didn't let me walk through the code myself at all, Instead opting to opening the code himself and grilled me line by line explaining all his nitpicks with it. Then asking why I chose what I chose. At the end of the day he didn't like my code as he dubbed it "too flashy" and the process stopped there for me.

Question 1
Explain every react hook and when you should most optimally use it.
Hello - Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. It’s always helpful to hear about your personal experience. We want candidates to enjoy their interactions with our team throughout the interview process (heck - we want to enjoy the time we spend together too!), and we always try to structure code reviews as a conversation. The idea is to have a productive dialogue and learn whether our coding standards align. We deeply value the work you put into the application, and will pass this feedback along to the team. Thank you again. - Kevin in Recruiting
