I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Skytree in Jan 2025
Interview
Here's the interview steps
1 - meet with recruiter (30 min)
2- meet with technical hiring manager (45-60min)
~ 1 month of no-contact~
3- meet with 2 more directors (45-60min)
4- Receive request to complete an assignment within 48hours.
The assignment is not realistically doable to the level of polishing requested (unless one dedicates 2 full days to it, not 2 days of after work free time hours) So it is either a test to see how priorities are managed or ... ?
Quite a strange thing to have this sort of free work request this late in the process
At step 4, I wrote that instead of sending a partially filled assignment, I preferred to withdraw my candidature.
Thanking Skytree for their time
and expecting some sort of reply, but it was a radio silence after that.
Additionnally, between step 2 and 3 of the interview process, a few weeks have elapsed, without any form
of communication from Skytree. Even though the feedback from the interview 2 seemed positive, initially
At interview 3, one of the sr interviewer mentioned something about the difficulty to find competent engineers in the NL, which is a baffling comment, as skilled engineers definitely exist in the NL
Overall, I might have dodged a bullet here, but maybe it is truly a great company to work for
I'd genuinely like to understand that they hiring thought process and strategy
Hopefully they find the right candidates at the right location, as the proejct itself is promising

Interview
I had my initial screening for a Senior Mechanical Engineer position over Google Meets. The questions were general, focusing on my resume and past experience. The conversation was very relaxed and the interviewer was friendly, which made for a positive atmosphere.
