I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Smartly
Interview
Two month slog comprising six different conversations culminating with an hour presentation on two different topics from a list of six. The interviews are not necessarily difficult but it's a very long process.
After the first few rounds I was told by the recruiter that the feedback on me was that I was too chatty and I should focus on being more concise for the final round. All good. I know I have the tendency to ramble. For the final round I cut out the small talk and stuck strictly to my points. After that I was told they went with someone who showed more passion. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
I got the feeling that they wanted me to profess my admiration for Smartly but they weren't trying to sell me on why I should want to work there. That should be a two way street, in my opinion.
Seems like Smartly could be a great company for the right person. I enjoyed the conversations I had for the most part but I think they're drinking their own Kool-Aid a bit when it comes to culture.
