Aced the tests (top 10%), and 8 of 9 people got on really well with including hiring VP. Also had internal sponsor and referral. Last (9th) interviewer preferred someone else. They had definitive say over hiring VP. Waste of everybody's time. Put him at the start of the process. Recruitment by committee plus an over-riding person on top.
