Declined offer
Negative experience
Difficult interview
Application
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Smith+Nephew (Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, Yorkshire and the Humber, England) in Apr 2016
Interview
Three stage interview process, initial interviews conducted by telephone. Final interview competency based. Fairly straightforward. Initial feedback positive.
Took over a month for a formal job offer to be mailed. Salary offered was £45,000, along with a company credit card, this was positive.
As this position required moving across the country, key to the offer was the relocation package.
Very poor offer which equated to £20 a day before tax, for 6 months. Needless to say, I declined. Running two homes, and living in digs whilst attempting to relocate should attract an appropriate allowance.
As every individual has differing circumstances, no one from Smith & Nephew bothered to discuss this with me. I was assured that the 'generous' relocation package would be tailored to suit. Sadly, this was not the case.
