I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Smiths Detection (London, England)
Interview
They wanted me to come for a short first stage interview rather than do it online like most other reasonable companies. They have interviewed many candidates over a long period, which indicates they are very picky. The start of the interview was very abrupt and the interviewer asked questions that were completely inappropriate and unrelated to the job role or job description.
It felt like she didn't know how to conduct a professional interview nor understood the actual role.
She also didn't seem to understand some of the technical topics when I answered her, especially when one of the answers I gave was per her own group company policy. This meant that I couldn't go into as much depth with her in technical matters.
Overall the interview was a waste, avoid going for such interviews.

Question 1
How would you explain to a non-accountant (the role has nothing to do with explaining this to non-accountants).
I applied through other source. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Smiths Detection (Hemel Hempstead, England)
Interview
Good, fair, detailed experience with several meetings and a presentation.
Friendly and open participants and interesting to learn more about the organisation.
Wasn't successful and it took a while to get the results but then feedback was given.

Question 1
Experience in different situations - example scenarios
First recruiter interview was nice.
Second interview with manager and future colleague was also nice. Sadly they never bothered giving feedback and I received a (poorly) automated rejection email with no insight over one month later. I think that if you do more than one interview you should receive personalised feedback.
